Will the Minister implement a cultural review into Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue services, in light of the recent report released on the cultural review into South Wales Fire and Rescue Service?
We know there are particular and serious problems of mismanagement and misconduct in South Wales Fire and Rescue Services, and that is why we are intervening. It would be unwise to assume that the issues in south Wales could never arise elsewhere. Therefore, I wrote to the Chairs of North Wales Fire and Rescue Authority and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Authority on 16 January to seek an urgent and detailed assessment of the fundamental matters raised by the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service Culture Report, in the context of their own services.
I will consider the replies carefully before deciding what further action may be needed as a consequence. I will update Senedd Members about this when appropriate.
