Will the Minister provide a response to the University of South Wales’s evaluation of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014?
The final report of the evaluation of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 was published on 30th March 2023. The authors acknowledge the hard work of all stakeholders in delivering the ambition of the legislation, whilst recognising implementation has been impacted by challenges in the sector in recent years.
The Report notes the journey towards the realisation of the ambitious aim of the Act as not complete and the Report’s conclusion provides series of ‘test questions’ to the sector as a whole. These questions are a vehicle to support dialogue amongst stakeholders, including Welsh Government.
The ‘test questions’ from the evaluation are being used alongside the Expert Group recommendations to help guide the implementation of the National Care Service.
