What steps is the Welsh Government taking to train teachers capable of teaching through the medium of Welsh in additional learning needs provision?
Our Welsh in Education Workforce Action Plan sets out the steps we are taking with our partners to increase the number of teachers who can teach through the medium of Welsh, including those who can support learners with additional learning needs (ALN).
We are currently working with local authorities to appoint a national Welsh Language Implementation Lead to support the development of Welsh-medium ALN provision and professional learning.
The National MA (Masters) in Education continues to offer a pathway to enable practitioners to enhance their professional knowledge, engage with research, and to improve their professional practice in the area of ALN.
The National Professional Learning Pathway for ALN also provides support for practitioners to further develop their skills and knowledge to support learners with additional learning needs across Wales.
