What assessment has the Minister made of the finding in the Estyn Chief Inspector's Annual Report that there are too many examples of ineffective self-evaluation and improvement planning, and how does the Welsh Government intend to respond?

Improving the quality of self-evaluation and improvement planning is a priority for the Welsh Government.  That is why I commissioned an independent review of the roles and responsibilities of education partners in Wales and school improvement arrangements as I was aware the support schools receive is inconsistent.

I published a written statement to the Senedd on 31 January 2024 updating members on the review. I attach my statement and the letter from Professor Jones which provides further details on how school improvement can best be supported.
