Will the Minister provide an update on what actions the Welsh Government is taking to address skills shortages in creative industries?

Our three-year Creative Skills Action Plan, shaped by the Creative Skills Advisory Panel - a group of industry experts, was established in May 2022. It is focused on supporting both the current and future creative industries workforce in Wales and ensuring it is fully equipped with the necessary skills for the sector to thrive.  The Creative Skills Fund is currently supporting 17 projects which are directly delivering against the 10 industry identified priorities within the Action Plan, which include:

 

Business and leadership training

Talent support

Improve diverse and inclusive recruitment

Entry-level placements and opportunities

Upskilling placements and opportunities

Education and new curriculum

Careers awareness

Innovation

Bridging the gap between further education/ higher education (FE/HE) and industry

Well-being of the workforce and support for freelancers
