Will the Minister outline what the Welsh Government is doing to ensure the quality of education provision does not decline, in light of comments by NAHT Cymru stating that 87 percent of its members would have to make cuts to fund the 2023-24 pay award for teachers and leaders?

Our school improvement guidance sets out how the education system can work together to support schools in their improvement.  We are undertaking an independent review into school improvement arrangements to ensure schools get access to the best possible support. We will update our guidance to take account of the review’s findings.

We have re-prioritised funding within the Education budget so we can protect school funding as much as possible, spending more in areas under the greatest pressure and increasing the Welsh Government grants going directly to schools.
