Will the Minister confirm what actions the Welsh Government is taking to tackle bullying in the screen sector?

Answered by Deputy Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism | Answered on 31/01/2024

The Welsh Government, through Creative Wales, is using the findings in the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre’s (PEC) Good Work report to work with stakeholders and the Welsh Government’s Fair Work Team to develop a road map to help to improve working practices in the creative industries in Wales.

This includes building on good practice such as the Wellbeing Facilitators project funded by Creative Wales to support and inform producers and heads of department to help prevent stress, mental health issues, bullying, harassment and discrimination on productions.

We prioritise the development of a content production sector that provides equal and diverse opportunities for a long term, skilled employment base, targeted at companies that are implementing the latest practices in sustainable production and have wellbeing of cast, crew and employees at the forefront. All companies seeking Production Funding must first sign up to an Economic Contract.
