What has the Welsh Government been doing to raise awareness of the discretionary assistance fund for people who require it?

Answered by Minister for Social Justice and Chief Whip | Answered on 29/01/2024

Awareness raising for the Discretionary Assistance Fund (DAF) has always predominantly been through the DAF Partner Network which is managed by the DAF Partner Manager. The Network currently has over 800 registered partners and provides a direct route to the most vulnerable people in Wales, including people who have mental health issues, who live in social housing, have struggled with homelessness, experienced domestic abuse or have acute domestic situations which cause particular vulnerabilities in the home. All DAF partners are able to signpost to the fund and complete applications on behalf of individuals across Wales.

Information on DAF is available on local authority cost of living pages as well as the Welsh Government website.

The DAF also continues to feature in regular Welsh Government communication campaigns focussed on making people aware of the support available to them.
