Further to WQ90304-5, is the Minister aware of a) the number of children and young people, and adults in Wales living with Tourettes, and b) the number of children and young people, and adults awaiting a Tourette's diagnosis following referral to an NHS neurodivergence diagnosis pathway?

Answered by Deputy Minister for Social Services | Answered on 24/01/2024

The Welsh Government does not collect national data on the number of children, young people and adults living with Tourette’s Syndrome, those who are awaiting an assessment for Tourette’s Syndrome or the number who have received a diagnosis.  Local Health Boards may be able to provide this information on a regional basis.

Our neurodivergence improvement programme is working to develop a national pathway for Tourette’s Syndrome for assessment and support.
