What plans does the Minister have to improve bus links between north and south Wales?

Answered by Deputy Minister for Climate Change | Answered on 25/01/2024

Transport for Wales are continuing to deliver improvements to key Welsh Government TrawsCymru bus services which link north and south Wales on strategic corridors not served by rail. Improved services have recently been introduced on the TrawsCymru T1 (Aberystwyth to Carmarthen) and T2 (Bangor to Aberystwyth) routes, which both are designed to connect at Aberystwyth.

Transport for Wales are also developing a Full Business Case for North to South Strategic Coach links. These are aimed at exploring a route between Bangor and Carmarthen (via Aberystwyth) with a circa 4.5 hour end to end journey time. This work is being carried out in collaboration with Siân Gwenllian MS, the Plaid Cymru lead designated member, as part of the Co-operation Agreement between the Welsh Government and Plaid Cymru.
