What assessment has the Minister made of the increased pressure on local authorities in Wales of fulfilling their duties regarding the pick up of stray dogs, in the wake of American XL Bullies being added to the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991?

The Dangerous Dogs Act is non-devolved. Defra are working closely with Local Authority representatives and the Local Government Association to assess any resulting impacts of the ban on Local Authorities. This includes conducting a new burdens assessment to assess the need for additional support.
