Will the Minister provide an update on what discussions they are having with the Arts Council of Wales on how they can best support people with backstage jobs in the arts sector?
Answered by Deputy Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism | Answered on 18/01/2024
Welsh Government support for the Arts is channelled through the Arts Council of Wales (ACW) who operate at arm’s length from Government.
ACW have committed to working with partners, including Creative Wales through the recently launched Memorandum of Understanding, to identify training and skills development opportunities in the sector. This would include freelancers and those in backstage jobs like technical support roles.
