Has the Welsh Government had discussions with any other fire and rescue services in Wales regarding their culture, in light of the review into the culture of South Wales Fire and Rescue Service?
I have discussed issues of culture and values with all Fire and Rescue Authorities (FRAs) in Wales on several occasions. Most recently, I wrote to the Chairs of North Wales and Mid and West Wales FRAs on 16 January, indicating that the Welsh Government is actively considering how best to take forward the important lessons that the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service Culture Report contains for other Fire and Rescue Services, and the wider public sector.
As a first step, I have asked FRA Chairs from Mid & West Wales and North Wales to provide me with an urgent assessment of the fundamental matters raised by the review in the context of their own services. I will make a further statement to the Senedd about this, and about the position in South Wales, as soon as possible.
