What discussions has the Minister had with car manufacturers and mechanics about the impact 20mph speed limits will have on a car's performance and capabilities?

Neither car manufacturers nor mechanics have raised concerns with me about this issue. My understanding is that slower driving speeds cause less wear and tear to a vehicle, due to the reduced acceleration and braking required to drive at 20mph. I have not been provided evidence from elsewhere to suggest speed limit reductions cause vehicle damage.
