What discussions has the Minister had with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board about the potential of extending the list of ailments treated at, and the opening times of, Llandudno Minor Injuries Unit?
The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is responsible for the planning and delivery of healthcare services on behalf of its local population, this includes services provided at the Llandudno Minor Injuries Unit.
The Health Board is reviewing plans in respect of how people access minor injury and minor illness services across the health board area and is working to address workforce challenges to support these services and improve access wherever possible. I have not held any recent specific discussions with the Health Board officials around provision of services at the Llandudno Minor Injuries Unit.
Over the last two years, we have made £5.4 million available to enhance both patient and staff experience in emergency department waiting rooms, and when accessing or providing care and treatment throughout the departments and minor injuries units. Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board has received £941,000 of this funding, as well as nearly £6m to support delivery of its local six goals for urgent and emergency care improvement programme.
