What support will the Minister give to ensure that school transport in and around Pontypridd continues to be available both for those pupils outside the statutory walking distance and those pupils who pay for transport?

In accordance with the provisions of the Learner Travel (Wales) Measure it is the responsibility of the local authority to provide dedicated home to school transport.
By the end of this financial year Welsh Government will have provided over £200m of financial support to the bus industry since the onset of the covid pandemic.
We have asked local authorities to work in regional partnership with bus operators, TfW and Welsh Government to plan the network that best suits the needs of their communities.
