Will the Minister commit to creating a dedicated forum for Welsh leaseholders to air any grievances with the Welsh Government relating to the cladding crisis?
Leaseholder and Resident engagement remain at the core of my approach.
A Strategic Stakeholder Group has been established which provides a platform for members to voice their opinion on current and future policy. This group is well balanced with representatives including both residents and leaseholders. Three members of the Welsh Cladiators attend as representatives of residents and leaseholders as well as Tenant Participation Advisory Service Cymru (TPAS), the Leasehold Advisory Service (LEASE) and Leasehold Knowledge Partnership.
Both my officials and I meet with individual leaseholders regularly to discuss any issues they have in relation to the fire safety of their buildings. A dedicated mailbox has been set up (BuildingSafety@gov.wales) and is available for any leaseholder with concerns or questions regarding the fire safety of their building. I would encourage all leaseholders to contact us should they require support.
