What engagement has the Welsh Government undertaken with relevant industry bodies with regards to the establishment of a deposit return scheme in Wales?
I have met with representatives of British Glass, the drink and hospitality sector and will be meeting in the next few weeks with more drink sector representatives. In parallel detailed engagement sessions have also been held by my officials, who have met on a regular basis with industry bodies covering retail, hospitality, small producers and the wider drinks industry as well as environmental groups. This is in addition to the joint engagement we have been undertaking with other nations through the deposit return scheme industry fora, which includes an overall forum for the scheme alongside specialist sub-groups such as the one for Small Producers, which is chaired by the Welsh Government. Officials also hold bilateral meetings with industry groups on a regular basis.
