What action is the Government taking to mitigate the worst effects of the closure of the A487 near Pontarddyfi in January 2024?

Answered by Minister for Climate Change | Answered on 06/12/2023

The A493 will be closed to vehicle traffic to carry out drainage works to protect a row of Grade 2 listed buildings (Dyfi Cottages) from future flood events. The new Dyfi Bridge and the A487 between Corris and Machynlleth will be open to traffic during the closure. The project team are currently consulting with local authorities and the emergency services and recently held four public information events at the Dyfi Eco Park to present the road closure proposal and gather the public’s views. The feedback received will be used by the project team to ensure that appropriate mitigation measures are in place during the road closure.
