How is the Welsh Government encouraging the utilisation of AI technology in the agricultural sector?
On 28 November the Welsh Government published the Agri-Tech action plan. The Plan sets out a vision to support the sector to be profitable, efficient and sustainable whilst exploiting the potential of agri-tech. In addition, Farming Connect has several interventions aimed at supporting farmers adopt new technology, e.g., the demo farm network, “Our Farms”, to showcase data and case studies to promote agri-tech whilst delivering events targeting its use and raise awareness. The Programme also offers accredited training and e-learning courses to improve technology skill level and confidence as well as subsidised 1:1 advice.
