What measures are being taken by the Welsh Government to support Welsh farms that experience adverse economic damage as a result of winter pressures?

Through our agricultural support schemes we continue to support farmers to enhance their business performance, helping them to prepare for fluctuating costs and returns. In addition, on 12 October the Welsh Government paid over 97.2% of BPS 2023 advance payments, with more than £160.8m paid to over 15,700 farm businesses. Full and balance payments will be made from 15 December. We have also brought forward payment of Glastir 2023 claims, and payments will start from 1 December. We expect to pay all but the most complex cases by the end of the year.
