Was the Minister aware of complaints made regarding Roger Lewis' conduct prior to appointing him to lead the review of Cadw?

Answered by Deputy Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism | Answered on 24/11/2023

Yes, I was aware that complaints had been made against Mr Lewis at Amgueddfa Cymru. But the independent investigation found that Mr Lewis had not breached the terms of his appointment there and that he had adhered to the Nolan principles for public life. Officials also assured me that he would bring wide business experience and extensive heritage knowledge and expertise to his role as chair of the task and finish group for the time-limited Cadw review.
