Will the First Minister make a statement on the future of bus services in North Wales?
By the end of this financial year we will have provided over £200m of funding to the bus industry to help them deal with the impacts of the pandemic and the rising costs and falling patronage we have seen since. This includes the £42m bus transition fund for this financial year.
Our North Wales regional network planning team which is comprised of local authorities, bus operators, TfW and Welsh Government officials has planned a network to maximise the funding made available to them. This will form the basis of the future network in North Wales.
Conversations between officials and local authorities are currently underway to discuss the level of Welsh Government support that will be made available to all regions in 2024/25.
