Will the Minister confirm how people living with dementia in rural communities will be involved in the development of the next dementia action plan for Wales?

Answered by Deputy Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing | Answered on 31/10/2023

The current Dementia Action Plan is being independently evaluated, and this evaluation will inform the successor arrangements to the plan.

Following consideration of the findings of the evaluation, Welsh Government will consult with stakeholders in developing these successor arrangements. The views of people with lived experience will be key to this engagement, and engagement will be designed to maximise opportunity for stakeholders across Wales to provide their views. This will include ensuring that those people living in rural communities are offered the opportunity to engage.

Planning around how this engagement will take place will be developed in conjunction with the Dementia Oversight of Implementation and Impact Group in 2024.
