Will the Minister outline how specifically the Welsh Government intends to achieve the national milestone of eliminating the pay gap for gender, disability, and ethnicity by 2050?

Answered by Minister for Social Justice and Chief Whip | Answered on 11/10/2023

Our commitment to social partnership and fair work is providing us with the opportunity to engage with employers and trade unions in the public and private sectors to address workplace equality, diversity and inclusion including pay gaps.

This work is also being driven across Welsh Government through our Employability and Skills Plan, equality action plans including those focussed on gender, disability and race, and the review of the Public Sector Equality Duty.

Welsh Government is also delivering a range of policy interventions designed to improve the employment outcomes of those with protected characteristics.  This includes work to promote the adoption and accreditation of the Real Living Wage, and the recruitment of a team of Disabled People’s Employment Champions.
