How much has been spent on upgrading or refurbishing the Welsh Government's building at Cathays Park over the last five years?

Answered by Minister for Finance and Local Government | Answered on 06/10/2023

Expenditure on upgrading or refurbishing the Welsh Government’s building at Cathays Park over the last five financial years to date is £14,057,637.

The capital projects delivered include essential investment required to maintain / improve the condition, compliance and performance of our buildings – including decarbonisation projects aimed at reducing the environmental impact of the estate (e.g. solar PV; LED lighting; EV charging etc.) and enhancing biodiversity.

In more recent years capital works have also been aligned with the predicted future use of our estate - in particular, the rationalisation of WG operations to facilitate anticipated sub-tenancy arrangements with other public sector organisations.
