What consideration is the Welsh Government giving to supporting children with additional learning needs prior and during school life as part of developing the Healthy Child Wales Programme part 2?

Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services | Answered on 26/09/2023

In developing the Healthy Child Wales Programme Part 2, we are collaborating with specialist community public health nurses and children’s community nursing services in Wales to establish a clear set of public health universal core contacts.

These contacts will build upon those currently offered by the existing Healthy Child Wales Programme for children aged 0-7 and will be offered to all children of compulsory school age, including children with additional learning needs, regardless of their setting.

Support will be tailored to ensure children and their families receive services tailored to their individual needs.
