What discussions has the Minister had about other schemes that Wales would benefit from rejoining, following the news of the UK rejoining Horizon Europe?
The Welsh Government consistently pressed the UK Government to maintain participation in EU programmes such as Horizon Europe, Erasmus and European Territorial Co-operation (ETC) as part of the UK-EU Trade and Co-operation Agreement.
Regrettably, the UK Government did not negotiate ongoing UK participation in these programmes (other than the PEACE PLUS ETC programme), until the recent agreement to formally associate to Horizon Europe.
To mitigate some of the impact of these decisions, the Welsh Government has created the Taith international learning exchange programme and the Agile Cymru programme which supports Welsh organisations to develop international links and economic co-operation with nations and regions world-wide.
