What steps are being taken to ensure that the presence of RAAC in hospitals will not impact NHS patient care?
Plans are in place where extensive RAAC has been identified in two acute hospitals in Wales, as survey and mitigation works continue. The operational impact on day-to-day services is being managed by each respective health board - who are responsible for the provision of healthcare services for people living within its borders. The transfer of patients and services where appropriate to other locations whilst mitigation works are taking place is therefore a matter for each health board to determine.
I refer you to the Written Statement that I issued on 13 September which is attached.
