When was the presence of RAAC identified in Bronglais Hospital?

Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services | Answered on 11/09/2023

A small area of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) was identified in a remote plant room area at Bronglais Hospital in the Summer of 2020. Specialist engineers have visited this area and inspected the condition of the planks and assessed that they require monitoring and no immediate mitigation.  The Health Board have advised that the area is restricted to estates staff only working within a permit to work system with full awareness training provided.
