How many people has the Welsh Government's 20 mph rollout advertising campaign reached?

A robust national communications and marketing campaign has been running since March this year to raise awareness of the 20mph speed limit coming into force in Wales on 17th September 2023.
Last week, a leaflet was sent to every household and business in Wales, and in settlement areas where there is frequent travel over the border with England. To access this online in accessible or alternative versions, please visit: 20mph campaign: promotional leaflet.
By the coming into force date, we estimate:
- our digital campaign will deliver a unique reach of around 847,000 on Meta, 976,000 on X (formally Twitter) and 371,000 through digital display adverts.
- television, video on demand and radio adverts, as well as out of home advertising, will deliver an additional 21,500,000 impressions.
Further paid-for marketing will continue after the coming into force date and will provide additional reach.
