Further to WQ88796, what assessment has the Minister made of the reliability of the Public Health Wales report "Climate Change in Wales: Health Impact Assessment" considering they have not directly gathered any primary evidence?

Answered by Minister for Climate Change | Answered on 04/09/2023

Public Health Wales (PHW) has a key role in providing robust evidence-based advice to the Welsh Government on matters of public health, including on the health impacts of climate change.

The recently published Health Impact Assessment (HIA) report is based on a well-established, internationally recognised HIA methodology, including recognition by the World Health Organisation. The report will serve as an essential resource that can be used across sectors to address the significant potential health impacts arising from climate change.

Further details of the methodology used, which included primary source evidence, can be found in the Technical Report: HIAClimateChangeWales_Technical-Report-FINAL-1.pdf (phwwhocc.co.uk)
