What measures is the Minister taking to ensure that local authorities have sufficient PPE resources for distribution to care providers in their boundary area?

Answered by Deputy Minister for Social Services | Answered on 04/09/2023

Personal Protection Equipment has been a vital part of the Welsh Government’s response to Covid-19. In June this year we announced that we would extend our commitment to providing free PPE to the Health and Social Care Sector in Wales for a second time, concluding on the 31st March 2024. This will ensure that care staff and those receiving care across Wales are properly protected over the winter months and will provide additional time for care providers to restore PPE supply chains. NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership will continue to procure PPE for distribution to all Local Authorities in Wales.
