What steps is the Welsh Government taking in the short, medium and long term to ensure blind and partially sighted people receive information from NHS Wales that they can read?
Welsh government is committed to ensuring people with sensory loss receive the information, care, support, and advice they need to live independent and healthy lives.
Officials are working closely with NHS Wales, RNIB as well as Deafblind UK, RNID and the British Deaf Association to develop a range of recommendations and actions aimed at ensuring the communication and information needs of people with sensory loss are consistently met when accessing healthcare.
These short, medium and long-term recommendations and actions will enable NHS Wales to fully meet their obligations under the Equality Act 2010 and the All-Wales Standards for Accessible Communication and Information for People with Sensory Loss.
