Will the Minister commit to funding existing contracts made through the Recruit, Recover, Raise Standards: Accelerating Learning Programme, in spite of the grant funding being tapered down in the forthcoming years?
The RRRS funding programme was deliberately designed as a temporary measure to help schools to provide additional support to learners during and following the pandemic. As it is a temporary measure the intention was always to taper the funding in the years following the pandemic. As a result, staff recruited through the RRRS programme should only be recruited on temporary basis as the impacts of the pandemic are expected to change over time and children and young people are expected to need support through a range of different approaches.
