What assessment has the Welsh Government made of the state of school buildings in need of repair in Wales?

It is a local authority duty to assess condition and safety risks for all buildings within its school estate and to maintain records. However, high-level condition data is collected annually through the Sustainable Communities for Learning Programme.
The Programme’s investment objectives include reducing sub-standard accommodation which is assessed at each stage of the business case process through the Sustainable Communities for Learning Business Case Scrutiny Group and Education Investment Panel.
