Will the Minister state how much publicly owned land there is in Wales, and provide a breakdown of ownership by public body sector?

Answered by Minister for Climate Change | Answered on 21/07/2023

Responsibility for Welsh land assets held by public bodies (including UK Government and Ministry of Defence) are a matter for the individual organisations. The Welsh Government does not keep a record of them.

Welsh Government land and property assets, other than operational assets such as roads, are registered with the UK Land Registry. The Land Registry data is available free of charge to registered users at: Home | DataMapWales (gov.wales) as ‘publicly owned land’.
