What advice has the Counsel General provided Welsh Government with respect to the provision of public information in relation to legislation affected by the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Act 2023?

Answered by Counsel General and Minister for the Constitution | Answered on 11/07/2023

We will continue to work with the UK Government to identify which pieces of Retained EU Law it intends to revoke, reform, restate or replace using powers in the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Act and consider the implications for Wales of any such proposals. We do not expect the UK Government to exercise these powers in devolved areas without the consent of the Welsh Ministers and expect there to be a mutually agreed process in place for obtaining that consent. We will keep the Senedd, and thereby the wider public, informed about the UK Government’s actions in devolved areas and the Welsh Government’s response to such actions.
