Will the Minister provide the latest information available to enable an assessment of the extent to which the Government is meeting the national indicators for the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act 2015 laid before the Senedd in December 2021?

Answered by Minister for Social Justice and Chief Whip | Answered on 12/07/2023

The national indicators were first laid in 2016 and updated in December 2021 to measure Wales's progress towards the well-being goals. As a result of engagement and feedback, new indicators on justice, travel, housing costs and digital inclusion were added in 2021.

In September each year, the Chief Statistician publishes the Well-being of Wales Report which provides an annual assessment of Wales’s progress towards the seven well-being goals, using the national indicators, national milestones and other contextual data. The latest report, released on 29 September last year included an additional sub-report for children and young people’s wellbeing. This year’s report is due to be published in late September.

As well as the annual Well-being of Wales report, a national indicators dashboard is available which includes data for each national indicator.
