The data requested are not held centrally by the Welsh Government. Data showing the number of admissions by primary diagnosis and Local Health Board are published by Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) in its Patient Episode Database for Wales (PEDW) tables. Data for 2022 are not yet available. The latest available data show there were 244 admissions in Cardiff and Vale UHB in 2020/21 where the primary diagnosis was for ‘Diseases of liver’.
