How will the Welsh Government act on the recommendations outlined in the 'The Welsh Language in the Additional Learning Needs System' report published by the Welsh Language Commissioner and the Children's Commissioner for Wales?
I welcome the Commissioners’ joint policy paper and I am responding to them to outline the actions that we are taking to respond to their recommendations.
The challenges highlighted echo many of the points raised with me by the sector and by learners and their families. Addressing these challenges is a priority, and I have ensured that the planning to increase the provision of Welsh-medium education for learners with additional learning needs is a key outcome of the Welsh in Education Strategic Plans (WESPs).
The Welsh Government is working with its partners to improve Welsh-medium additional learning provision, so that all learners can have the same opportunity to learn and develop to reach their full potential.
