What discussions has the Minister had about Welsh Government becoming a signatory to the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism?

Answered by Deputy Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism | Answered on 16/06/2023

Organisations signing up to the Glasgow Declaration commit to acting to cut tourism emissions at least in half over the next decade and reach net zero as soon as possible before 2050. Whilst the Welsh Government is not a signatory to the Declaration, in March 2021 the Senedd formally committed Wales to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Environmental sustainability is a core part of our current tourism strategy, ‘Welcome to Wales: Priorities for the visitor economy 2020-25’.
