How have rent controls in Scotland and the Republic of Ireland informed Welsh Government policymaking?
Answered by Minister for Climate Change | Answered on 25/05/2023
As part of our work on fair rents and affordability, the Welsh Government commissioned the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence to provide a briefing on examples of rent controls in other countries, which included Scotland and Ireland.
This briefing has helped to inform the development of a Green Paper Call for Evidence consultation on securing a path to adequate housing, including fair rents and affordability, which will be published shortly.
