What discussions has the Minister had with Ministerial colleagues regarding restarting the super sponsor scheme?
When the decision was taken to pause the super sponsor route on 10 June 2022, we committed to keeping the decision under review. The Super Sponsor route has been discussed at our Ministerial Board on several occasions since last June but the decision has been taken to maintain in light of wider pressures on housing and public services. We work closely with our partners in local government to assess capacity and take into account other challenges such as the closure of Afghan hotels and widening asylum dispersal. We will continue to keep the decision to pause the scheme under review taking into the account the ongoing challenges for public services and the situation in Ukraine.
