What support is available for small businesses to help them access reliable broadband?
Addressing broadband connectivity to businesses in Wales is the responsibility of the UK Government, but we continue to support businesses in Wales in a variety of ways.
Our Access Broadband Cymru scheme provides grants to fund (or part-fund) the installation costs of new broadband connections for premises across Wales including small businesses. The amount of funding available depends on the speed of the new connection:
· £400 for 10Mbps and above
· £800 for 30Mbps and above
In addition, our full fibre rollout in partnership with Openreach is providing access to fast and reliable broadband to homes and businesses across Wales. We estimate approximately 3,800 business premises have benefitted.
Our Local Broadband Fund also provides funding to local authorities and social enterprises for projects that deliver innovative broadband solutions to communities, including businesses, that do not currently have access to 30Mbps broadband speeds.
