Will the Minister provide an assessment of the effectiveness of the Welsh Government’s major events strategy?
We are of course only 10 months into delivery of the new strategy. A formal review of its effectiveness will take place every 2 years from the end of 2024. This will be undertaken by the Event Wales Industry Advisory Group (EWIAG) and aimed at ensuring the priorities identified are still where the greatest need lies and that the associated actions remain valid and fit-for-purpose.
To date, there are already clear signs of positive impact, including the launch of two new funds to support the sector in becoming more resilient and sustainable.
We are continuing to work with the sector, through EWIAG to deliver the implementation plan.
