What discussions has the Minister had with the new chair, board members and executives of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board regarding the construction of North Denbighshire Community Hospital in Rhyl?

I have not had any formal discussions with the new chair and board members but have met with executives from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board to discuss the proposed Royal Alexandra Hospital development.

I met the Leader of Denbighshire County Council and the then Chair and Chief Executive of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board last November. Due to the escalating cost of this project and capital pressures, I asked the partners to consider all funding options available for the scheme. This includes whether the project is a priority as part of the Integration & Rebalancing Capital Fund, where Regional Partnership Boards have been asked to develop 10-year strategic plans. I understand that the scheme is one of a range of priorities being promoted by the Regional Partnership Board, but I understand that no application has yet been received by my Officials.
