What action is the Welsh Government taking to increase capacity in local authorities' workforce to ensure construction works have sustainable drainage systems?
You may recall my responses to your previous queries (WQ85291 and WQ85173), setting out previous actions we have undertaken.
In addition, we have again increased the total revenue allocation available to Local Authorities to manage flood and coastal erosion risk. Local Authorities may apply for up to £225,000 through our Flood Risk Management grant for funding of work under the Flood and Water Management Ac 2010, work which includes sustainable drainage and delivery of the SAB function. It is for the authority to determine what they apply for through this grant and remaining funds will be allocated on a case-by-case basis.
