What plans does the Welsh Government have to publish an assessment of Wales’s progress towards achieving the World Health Organization metrics for the elimination of hepatitis C by 2030?
Officials have established the Hepatitis B and C Elimination Programme Oversight Group to provide a renewed strategic focus on elimination of hepatitis B and C in Wales. The group has set out a roadmap to elimination in the form of a Welsh Health Circular which was published in January 2023. This document contains specific actions and targets for key partners, which will be monitored by the group.
I will be receiving annual reports from the oversight group, outlining progress towards the elimination of hepatitis B and C as a public health threat in Wales. I will ensure that a version is made available to members.
