WQ87788 (e) Tabled on 16/03/2023

Further to WQ87491, will the Minister list the proportions of school sites in each condition category by local authority area contained in the latest annual schools return?

Answered by Minister for Education and the Welsh Language | Answered on 24/03/2023

As you will already be aware, we ask local authorities to grade their whole-school sites using an A-D categorisation.  Below is a table of school condition information based on survey returns received for 2022.  Each local authority will conduct a condition survey typically every 5 years and therefore the data is based on the latest available information at local authority level.  Data is split by type of school and condition (A-D).

To note, this information is based on 19 survey returns out of a total of 22 local authorities. We await completed survey returns for 3 local authorities.  Our current wave of infrastructure funding focuses on improving those condition C and D schools highlighted above.
